Want to do some typing? Or. Copy & Paste will be much easier.. FIRST: Make a new restore point ! Copy the following into Notepad, and do a 'Save As' and name it something like FixView.reg. In the File Type dropdown box, select 'All Files' (to preserve the .reg extension) and save this file. Now double-click it and click Yes when asked if you want to enter this into the Windows Registry. To prove it worked, open Windows Explorer and click the Tools button, then Folder Options, then View, and see if 'Show hidden files and Folders' is ticked, if not, tick it, click OK, and then go right back and see if it is still ticked. If it is still there, you are fixed, if not, you have more a different problem. If fixed, you can now see and use hidden files.
